The Chrysler Grand Voyager got new Eagle Eye headlights, but diagnostics revealed a dangerously high engine oil level.

How the job went
Problem
The headlights were cloudy and dim, and the Check Engine light was on.
What we did
We fitted new Eagle Eye headlights and adjusted their aim. Diagnostics showed the oil level was far too high, so we corrected it.
Result
Night-time visibility is much better, and we removed the risk caused by an overfilled engine.
Job details
The Chrysler Grand Voyager is one of the most popular family minivans, but its age and high mileage call for regular technical attention. A 2008 model (2.8d, 120kw) visited GT Garage for both cosmetic and functional improvements and to find the cause of an engine fault.
1. New lighting: fitting “Eagle Eye” headlights
Over time, headlight plastic turns cloudy and the reflectors burn out, seriously reducing visibility after dark. We replaced both front headlights on this car.
- Our choice: Quality “Eagle Eye” headlights were fitted, which not only refresh the car’s looks but also provide a strong, clear beam of light.
- Precision: After fitting, the headlight beam height was adjusted as standard to ensure maximum road visibility without dazzling oncoming drivers.
2. Computer diagnostics and an unexpected discovery
The customer came to us with an active “Check Engine” warning on the instrument cluster. Running computer diagnostics, we found not just an electronic fault but a significant mechanical risk.
- The fault: The engine oil level was found to be well above the maximum mark.
- Why is this dangerous? In diesel engines (especially those with DPF filters), a rising oil level can indicate fuel getting into the oil due to incomplete regenerations. An excessive level creates unnecessary pressure and can even cause engine “runaway”.
- The solution: The oil level was corrected urgently and the engine parameters checked, preventing potentially expensive repairs.
The result
Thanks to the new headlights, the Chrysler Grand Voyager is now safer on night drives, and it is technically under control too. This case proves once again that even a seemingly ordinary “Check Engine” warning can hide serious risks that only an experienced specialist will spot.
