How the job went
Problem
The rear brake discs and pads were worn, and the brake fluid was due for a change.
What we did
We fitted Brembo discs and pads, cleaned the caliper seats, filled TRW DOT4 fluid and bled the system. We also changed and balanced the tyres.
Result
The brake pedal is firm and responsive, stopping distances are short and there is no vibration on the road.
Job details
The compact and economical 2017 Audi A3 with its 1.6 litre diesel engine (77kw) is a dependable everyday car. To ensure maximum safety and comfort on the road, the owner brought it to our workshop for a comprehensive running gear and brake service.
1. Rear brake disc and pad replacement
Worn brake discs and pads significantly increase braking distance and can cause unpleasant noises.
- Quality standard: In place of the old, worn parts we fitted top-quality “Brembo” brake discs and pads. This manufacturer is a world leader in braking systems, guaranteeing precise stopping and a long service life.
- What the job involves: As part of the replacement we always service the caliper guides and thoroughly clean the rust from the mounting surfaces, so the new parts sit perfectly and work without binding.
2. Brake fluid change
Brake fluid is hygroscopic: over time it absorbs moisture, which reduces braking efficiency and promotes internal corrosion in the system.
- Safe braking: The system was filled with new “TRW DOT4” brake fluid that meets the manufacturer’s requirements. The system was fully bled, giving the brake pedal a firm and quick response again.
3. Tyre change and balancing
As the final step for safe driving, the tyres were changed.
- Precision: We professionally removed and fitted the tyres and precisely balanced the wheels on modern equipment to eliminate any vibration while driving.
After the work, the Audi A3 is fully prepared for safe and stable driving. The new Brembo brakes, fresh brake fluid and balanced tyres give the driver complete confidence in how the car drives and stops in any conditions.
