How the job went
Problem
The car was due a full service and the auxiliary belt was worn. The owner also wanted the main components checked.
What we did
We filled Liqui Moly Top Tec 4200 oil, replaced all filters (Knecht, Hengst) and fitted a Continental auxiliary belt. We also changed and balanced the tyres.
Result
The engine is properly looked after, and the inspection caught a damaged injector seal and a leaking valve cover gasket early.
Job details
The 2008 Audi A4 (B8) with its powerful and reliable 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine (176kw) needs regular, quality care. To ensure a long engine life and get the car ready for worry-free everyday use, the customer trusted us with a full service, an auxiliary belt replacement and a general check of the main components.
1. Full service with premium materials
Regularly changing fluids and filters is the most important step in protecting the engine and its ancillaries. For this service we used only proven, premium spare parts:
- Engine oil: We filled it with top-class “Liqui Moly Top Tec 4200” oil, which provides excellent lubrication, reduces friction and protects against wear even under heavy load.
- Filter set: We fitted top-quality “Knecht” cabin air, engine air and fuel filters, plus a “Hengst” oil filter. Clean filters mean the engine breathes properly, gets clean fuel and you have fresh air in the cabin.
- Auxiliary belt replacement: To avoid the risk of a worn belt snapping and leaving the car without power steering or alternator, we replaced it with a durable “Continental” auxiliary belt.
2. Tyre change
Alongside the work under the bonnet, we also fitted the tyres and precisely balanced the wheels for a smooth, quiet and safe ride.
3. Professional diagnostics: faults spotted in time
At our workshop, mechanics visually inspect the car’s main components during every service. This time the inspection helped us identify two issues early that will need attention in the near future:
- Damaged injector sealing ring: One of the fuel injectors has a damaged sealing ring. If it isn’t replaced in time, exhaust gas or fuel can start leaking around the injector seat (commonly known as a “blowing injector”), which later makes the injector harder to remove and leads to unnecessary costs.
- Valve cover gasket leak: The right-hand valve cover has a damaged gasket, causing an oil leak. Replacing this gasket in good time will protect the engine bay and electronic components from oil deposits.

We check the main components at every service. That way small faults are caught before they turn into an expensive repair.
